Cybersecurity is one of the most in-demand areas of the tech industry, with a projected growth rate of 28% by 2026, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
Will Markow, Vice-President of applied research at Lightcast, is convinced that there are two most in-demand roles remaining, cybersecurity engineers and cybersecurity analysts, but there is also strong demand for penetration testers and network security architects. Let's look over a few of them:
Security Architect
Security architects are tasked with designing and developing security systems. They work closely with the IT team to ensure that the organization has the right controls in place to protect data.
Security Analyst
Security analysts are responsible for monitoring and responding to security incidents. They also assess risk, develop security policies, and conduct security audits. Analysts need to have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to strategically think.
Penetration Tester
Penetration testers are responsible for testing the strength of an organization’s security systems by simulating attacks against them.
Security Engineer
Security engineers are responsible for designing and deploying secure systems. They collaborate with IT professionals to ensure that the organization’s systems are secure and compliant with industry regulations.
