Job Description

Job Purpose: Define, develop and govern the technology strategy for business portfolios in alignment with corporate business and IT. Set references and directions for technology investments and identify priorities for investment. Identify new opportunities, business drivers and provide improved IT responsiveness to business needs thereby increasing speed, agility and faster turnaround. Improves IT transparency enterprise-wide, pushes silos to think globally and act locally thereby accelerating a move towards a real time enterprise. Job Outline: Generic: - Lead the definition and governance of new corporate and portfolio IT standards and guiding principles by analysing and understanding the potential impact of those changes on both IT and the business. - Periodically review the IT estate in the context of such standards and guidelines. Resolve cross-portfolio technology concerns by establishing repeatable architecture solutions. - Provide technology leadership and expert consultancy and coach solution architects and development teams. Execute servant leadership principles and empower the team by developing them and setting the right context. - Lead the team by coaching, creating development plans, setting SMART goals to ensure delivery of service level agreements (SLA) and objectives. Conduct continuous performance reviews to cultivate a high performance culture. - Scout the market and track technology advancements and new business innovations, determine how they relate to the IT strategy, existing standards, platforms and patterns, and lead the work to amend the existing assets or create new assets. Specific to Portfolios (Customer, Operations, Commercials, WMAP, Support Services and dnata) - Take accountability for continuous improvement of the application and technology landscape by defining, planning and driving technical enablers, managing technical debt and ensuring modernised roadmaps and updated architecture runways. - Acquire knowledge in the business portfolio domains and lead technology transformations for simplification, rationalization and innovation by defining target and transition architectures for the portfolio in line with business and IT objectives. - Be an evangelist of the Well-Architected Framework and ensure development teams understand and adopt such practices. Specific to cyber security - Accountable for defining cyber security architecture and technology strategies, standards, principles, and guidelines by drawing architectural expertise and experience. - Define and lead the adoption of guidelines for protecting sensitive information such as customer data by designs complying with their regulations. - Participate, lead and deliver security architecture evaluation reports on cloud providers, cloud-native platforms, data center solutions, and Software as a Service solutions - Conduct period architecture assessments to identify areas of improvements in the cyber security landscape collaboratively with other key stakeholders Specific to Enterprise Data and Analytics - Set the strategic directions for data and data science technologies and solutions so that information/data requirements and supporting systems are aligned to corporate strategic goals. - Lead and guide the team in development of data architecture practices, including standards, policies, guidelines and procedures. - Ensure that the data security policies and governance policies are established to maintain quality and integrity our information resources - Collaborate with various business units, and provide thought leadership that will help them to define and understand establish solutions in their respective areas Specific to Strategy and Innovation - Experience in shaping and delivering transformative business strategies and leading-edge solutions leveraging emerging and innovative technologies in large, established enterprises and brands. - Experience in running technology experiments collaborating with business and technology partners, developing rapid prototyping to evolve innovations, and early deployment and measurement of new innovative products and services into production, yet safeguarding architecture and security characteristics. - Have the breadth of knowledge, curiosity to learn, and an open mindset to explore emerging technologies such as Web 3.0, blockchain, Robotics, 5G, Mobile technologies, Hyper Automation, AI, IoT, Extended Reality, Security, Payments, Sustainability, Quantum computing, etc. - Experience in managing and delivering for Board Level Executives on the value of Emerging technologies. In addition, exposure to partner landscape of emerging technologies with established relationships with partner networks. - Experience in providing thought leadership in adopting large-scale innovation, in large enterprises, that benefits business.
Qualifications & Experience: Information Technology. Other : 10+ Years Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent) : Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or an equivalent IT related discipline. Experience in Information technology, Enterprise Architecture Knowledge/skills: - Preferably close to 10 years of experience in the development of large scale complex, distributed, scalable mission critical applications in heterogeneous environments. - Technical leadership and architecture experience with experience in leading a group of solution architects, directing strategic investments and influencing delivery plans - Experience in developing technology strategies and solutions with an enterprise big picture view and ability to zoom into solution details - Understanding of application development technologies such as Java, open source frameworks, cloud, low code platforms etc. - Understanding of non-functional requirements and other practices such as observability, automation etc. - Understanding of agile software development frameworks such as Scrum, Scaled Agile. - Understanding of TOGAF, Zachman or any modern day Enterprise Architecture frameworks. - Understanding of industry standard software modelling approaches such as ArchiMate, UML etc. - Understanding of architecture styles such as Micro services, event driven architecture, cloud native applications. - Understanding of well architected framework for cloud deployments. - Ideally certification in at least one of the areas - TOGAF, IASA, Cloud Architecture, Cyber Security Preferably good understanding and experience in airline domain.
