Job Description

Position Summary:


Using project management best practices, the Senior Project Lead, Cybersecurity develops and manages the technical, financial, and administrative aspects of an assigned portfolio to ensure they are administered and implemented in a manner consistent with CRDF Global and funder objectives. The Senior Project Lead, Cybersecurity contributes to program operations across a wide range of solution design and implementation issues with a focus on larger projects in the area of Cybersecurity to ensure high quality and effective, adaptive and innovative programming of CRDF Global’s Cybersecurity portfolio across the globe.

The Senior Project Lead, Cybersecurity, in close collaboration with the Senior Operations Manager and Project Leads will translate conceptual policy ideas into actionable programs and projects. The ability to communicate effectively and to interact with subject matter experts in the field in academic, non-profit, industry and government sectors is essential to successful performance. Activities may include grant-making, conferences, meetings, workshops, training sessions, or other events.

The Senior Project Lead reports to the Senior Operations Manager.


This position is based at CRDF Global’s office in Kyiv, Ukraine.


Major Responsibilities:

Develops and manages a multiple complex or large projects. Designs and implements plans using best practices for project management (for multiple projects) that may include charters, WBS, statements of work, schedules, deliverables, monitoring and evaluation plans, and project budgets; prepares and submits reports and proposed modifications if necessary. Conducts project forecasting and financial management.
Manages sub-award budgets, including planning, administration, and financial reporting of project expenses upon closeout of the sub-award(s).
Ensuring compliance of monitoring and evaluation activities with funder requirements and best practices.
Developing and maintaining monitoring and evaluation SOPs in accordance with best practices and evolving requirements.
Provides oversight of the project team. If supervising staff, recruits, hires, on-boards staff; manages their workload; establishes work and development goals with staff; and provides feedback on performance standards.
Develops concepts and new project ideas as part of proposal development process.
Participates in managing stakeholder relations and networking with funders.
Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with donor/client organizations, in-country partners (vendors, consultants, universities), relevant U.S. and foreign government agencies, and other NGOs.
Presenting the results of evaluations to key stakeholders.
Represents program or projects at external events.
Supports other programs and staff, as required.
Travels within Ukraine and internationally as appropriate.
Other duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:


Required:

5+ years of progressively responsible work experience in managing donor-funded programming
Bachelor’s degree in related field
Demonstrated strong project management skills
Professional fluency in English
Excellent and effective written and oral communication skills, including the ability to interact with a wide range of individuals from varied backgrounds at all levels within their organizations
Strong conceptual skills combined with the ability to break down concepts into manageable, specific sets of objectives in order to plan and successfully implement creative, ambitious new projects
Proficient in Microsoft Office and use of databases
Strong sense of teamwork and interpersonal skills contribute to the culture of the organization
Ability to manage competing priorities and multiple projects at various stages of completion
Exceptional organizational skills/attention to detail; ability to meet deadlines
Strong diplomatic and negotiating skills
Ukraine work authorization


Preferred:

Cybersecurity technical skills
Experience working for the U.S. government or multilateral institutions
Experience working with an international non-profit organization
Background, knowledge, or familiarity with cybersecurity trends
